Safety Of The Workplace And Roadways

1. Maximum speed limit is 10 kph for all areas inside ring road. Maximum site speed all other areas 30 kph.
2. Convex mirrors to aid vehicles entering and exiting the CTA Central East/West roadway should be used.
3. Stop signs for all vehicles to be observed prior to entering/exiting the CTA Central East/West Roadway. Buildings and trucks can obscure those driving along the roadway between the buyers carpark and the sides of the CTA tenancies.
4. Forklift driving lights are to be illuminated at all times whilst vehicles are moving and this will also apply to motor bikes and motor scooters.
5. Helmets must be worn by drivers of motor bikes, motor scooters and bicycles and is enforceable under amendments to the Road Traffic Act.
6. Forklift drivers must wear their "Authorised PMA Forklift Diver' photo ID at all times whilst operating on site.
7. Forklift seat belts must be worn where fitted by manufacturer.
8. In accordance with Australian standards no one under 18 years of age may drive a forklift on site.

Forklift Drivers

It is illegal to operate a forklift at Market City without both a current Police Driver's licence and the Perth Market Authority ID approved training course. Authority to drive a forklift is automatically withdrawn if a police licence is suspended for any reason. Owners of forklift equipment need to be particularly careful in this regard due to their legal and insurance responsibility.

Any driver who has not successfully completed the forklift training program should contact the Chamber of Fruit & Vegetable Industries on 9455 2742 or extension 2780.

• 2 Current Police and PMA drivers licence
• 3 Driving lights on at all times
• 4 Maximum forklift speed - 10 kph
